- No chips, no cracks, these beautiful white lids were cleaned out of waterways by us and made into unique ornaments and decorations for display! They are each in EXCELLENT CONDITION, for being underwater all of these years!

- The history of white porcelain round lids spans centuries, bridging the worlds of imperial Asian and European luxury ceramics with the industrial utility of 19th-century preservation. These served as either elegant vessel covers or revolutionary pieces of food-safety hardware. In America, the phrase became deeply tied to home canning after John Landis Mason patented the screw-top jar in 1858. Because the original zinc lids reacted with acidic foods and left a metallic taste, Lewis R. Boyd patented the "Porcelain Lined Canning Jar Lid" in 1869. This design combined an outer zinc screw band with a round, circular insert made of white, opaque milk glass—commonly called white porcelain—which formed a safe barrier between the food and the metal. Stamped with brands like Ball or Boyd's Genuine Porcelain, these circular white inserts remained an essential staple of American kitchens for nearly a century! We find many of these underwater and have repurposed them into unique one of a kind signed ornaments/decorations!
