- The Lardenoit Beverage Co., also known as Lardenoit Beverages or Lardenoit Distributing, was a historic multi-generational, family-run soda manufacturing and bottling company based in Norway, Michigan, within the state's Upper Peninsula. Operating throughout the mid-to-late 20th century, the business manufactured and distributed carbonated soft drinks to various towns across the Upper Peninsula and its surrounding regions, serving as a prominent local employer and a major pillar of Dickinson County's commercial landscape. The company was closely associated with Victor Lardenoit and his sons, Felix and Ernest "Ernie" Lardenoit. Following his service in the US Navy during World War II, Ernest famously returned to help manage the family enterprise until his retirement in 1982, an event that signaled the end of the traditional, localized beverage distribution model. Today, the legacy of the business and the Lardenoit family names—including Louise Lardenoit—remains deeply embedded in regional lore, honored through local history programs such as the annual Living Wax Museum at Norway Elementary School.
